This collection was inspired by the landscape around my grandparents' home in Monikie, Angus. While at first glance the surroundings may have appeared bleak and to have fallen into a state of disrepair, I found beauty in their fragmented form and the muted colours within them. I used aerial photographs of the buildings and land to instruct my method of pattern-cutting, with the plan-view shapes also appearing as abstract patterns and details on the garments through jewellery, embellishment, printing and hand-painting techniques.
