Yulia Voytenko is the designer and vision behind YULIA.

Of Russian and Ukrainian roots, Yulia was born during the time of the Soviet Union, showing a passion for creating clothes from the earliest ages. Actively resisting the conformism and restrictions imposed by Soviet culture, she created her own clothes together with her mom who taught her sewing.

After completing a 5 year degree at the Moscow University of Design and Technology, at 24, only a year after the birth of her son, she moved to Milan to co-found a shoe brand, all the while falling in love with the city's vibrant culture and design traditions.
In 2013, she launched a high-end clothing brand which was sold globally to private high-profile clients, the finest boutiques, and won Vogue Italia’s and Alta Roma Who Is On Next contest in the same year.

In 2018, Yulia left the label to consult private clients while seeking to recharge her creative drives, and ultimately pursue her lifelong dream of launching a new brand under her own name YULIA in 2023.

Yulia says: “Throughout my design career, I have always championed slow fashion by working only on pre- order and made-to-measure to create the highest quality garments possible for my clients.

The YULIA atelier merges the handcrafted design traditions that I love with the future of fashion technology for timeless and collectible couture.”

IF I WERE A FLOWER

The debut collection of YULIA, “If I Were a Flower”, a name speaking of the beauty of dreaming, a display of geometric figures and fluid movement, with a playful and futuristic twist. The colour palette of the collection is bright, open and features a rainbow of colours, representing the fleeting nature of beauty - to be captured when found.

Slow fashion and a conscious production process is, and always will be, an integral part of the YULIA brand identity. YULIA combines bespoke slow fashion principles with couture design traditions to create a timeless piece with forever appeal. YULIA produces on-demand, made-to-order garments and believes in conscious, sustainable pieces that last a lifetime.

Only the highest quality, natural silk fabrics are used from historical Italian mills. These include out-of-production vintage fabrics, dead stock and material remnants in line with the brand’s sustainable and ecological approach to design. YULIA only works with local Italian artisans. This not only ensures the highest craftsmanship standards, but nurtures a highly skilled community and keeps design traditions alive in Italy.
