This collection mainly discovers the conflicts between imprisonment and freedom. It is a hot topic for China these days because of the riot of Hong Kong. The situation in China is just that people here have a relatively free hand in deciding what they are going to do while actually being controlled by the government. It reminds me of gravity under which you can jump without limitation but finally be forced to fall on the ground. I also consider policy as a kind of texture. Policy permeates all thing in your life just like the clothing we wear everyday which embrace us and influence us. They have changed themselves already.
I printed shoes and accessories with PLA making them really heavy and hard to wear referring to handcuffs and shackles in beautiful appearance. They are also like a poise for making you still. On the contrary, for the textile in clothes, while using the same materials, I give them a whole new texture by dissection or creating different structure. They become soft and flexible just like the freedom we feel. They are the parasite of the fabric even the body. In this collection, dresser experience the relaxation and lightness of the body with the hardness and heaviness of the shoes.
Freedom reminds me of wind and rain. It also reminds me cloud, light, water and he strange fascinating terrain. They are the origin and inspiration of dissection and structure design especially the ripples and water wave.
