WALTER FRIEDRICHS

Katharina Walter and Simone Friedrichs are the designers behind the label Walter & Friedrichs. They met while studying at Design Department, academy for fashion and communication in Duesseldorf, Germany. Next to her studies they already gained working experience with different designers, amongst others at Hannah Marshall and Hussein Chalayan in London.

In 2011 right after graduating, they founded their own label to realize their vision of timeless elegance, purism, quality and innovative shapes in womenswear. Both designers incorporate their two different personalities and influences into the designs. In this way, classical femininity is paired with a clear and elegant language of shapes. Their inspiration is retrieved by contrary characteristics from nature and architecture, which they interconnect to a new unit.

A timeless, top quality design combined with complex cutting solutions characterizes the style of Walter & Friedrichs. In this process opaque and transparent, solid and floating materials are combined to contrary compounds, that accentuate the feminine body in a subtle and yet certain way. The passion for quality is underlined through the manufacture of selective fabrics and the exclusive production in Germany.
