The ‘Wafa By Wafa’ pieces are an expression of power and individuality. The collection is inspired by the designer’s multi cultural upbringing and extensive travels. Combining her Indian heritage with a modern aesthetic to produce power pieces that are bold and refined all at once. Exquisite embroidery combined with an urbane color palette and quirky use of natural motifs is what forms the core of this statement accessory brand.

Wafa began her fashion career early - on graduation from high school in Dubai she spent a year working at a local design house in Sri Lanka. After which she moved to New York City to study fashion at Parson’s The New School for Design. She attended Parsons alongside colleagues such as Alexander Wang and Brandon Sun, each further sparking the competitive spirit in her and keeping her on her toes. A stint spent working under Jill Stuart gave her an enhanced understanding and appreciation for the various facets of the fashion industry, and one that remains with her to this day. Soon after Wafa launched her eponymous clothing label in 2009. Since then she has had successful shows at multiple venues including Miami, Dubai and India. Retailing at high-end specialty boutiques across the Middle East and India.

Despite the success of her clothing label and fueled by the need to travel, change the conversation and engage in a new experience, Wafa decided to shift focus from clothing and launch her accessory line ‘Wafa By Wafa’ in 2014. The collection was born from a desire to meld her Indian heritage with her experiences to create beautifully embroidered pieces that have the power to elevate any ensemble. ‘Wafa By Wafa’ caters to strong women that are influenced in style by mood, travel and experience and function on the principles of strength in individuality.
