SILVIA FADO

Footwear designer specialized in bringing new technologies and engineering development to traditional footwear. She started her studies in architecture but soon was more atracted to Fashion, so changed her career and graduated in Barcelona and post graduated in MA Fashion Footwear in London College of Fashion.
After some years of specialization in knitwear, she decided to move to London and change into footwear, were she found both, the structural elements and the creativity. After learning the traditional techniques in one of the more skilled footwear makers in London, she after completed a Master in Fashion Footwear at the London College of Fashion with Distinction.
The central concept of her work development is innovation, fashion tech and impact absorption, which is studied from a mechanical point of view with her engineer and industrial partners.
In her projects, she uses both traditional making and high technology methodologies: 3d printing, laser cuting and CNC milling.
Now is working on growing her own brand and business between Bracelona and London.
