SILKE DEBLER

It happened all by chance when Silke Debler was busy designing the runway collections for the New York fashion label Jill Stuart. To accessories the collection, she commissioned a local Glovemaker and from that point on it was Glove-Love. The complex craftsmanship, the history and possibilities of this accessory fascinated her. Her first Glove designs were immediately picked up by Lady Gaga, making them ’hot items’, as they were featured in her music videos and public appearances. To fully dedicate herself and work with the best manufacturers, the German-born Designer decided to relocate to Europe and started the label SILKE DEBLER in 2012 in the exciting city of Berlin. Since then the young label has been getting some international recognition, calling Silke Debler ‘an innovative designer and maestro‘ (New York Times, US), featuring her as International Young Talent (Collezioni Magazine, Italy) and winning the ‘Young Designer Award’ for Best Accessory Label (Premium Berlin, Germany).

Silke Debler creates exceptional Gloves and challenges the conventional definition of them. The Label combines innovative Design with traditional Craftsmanship. A world of Gloves: Reinterpreted classic styles, like driving Gloves, new shapes with seductive cut-outs, the use of unexpected materials, generous embellishment and thoughtful details. The practical, warming and protective character of the Gloves expands into jewellery pieces and fashion items. The collections are available in selected boutiques in Europe and from September 2016 online at www.silkedebler.com.The Gloves range between €120 for fingerless Gloves, €180 for medium length, silk lined Gloves and €295 for cashmere, fur trimmed Gloves. Intricate full length Gloves are €800 Euro.
