‘Shunya’ also referred as Śūnyatā in Sanskrit, means emptiness or enlightenment; is a Buddhist concept which primarily indicates a meditative state or experience in order to be ‘One with the Universe’. The three dots in the end represent Mi Vida Loca, Spanish for My Crazy Life, is a reflection of oneself and the world around us.
Shunya celebrates oneness with nature; our pivotal role as a being in the society and intrinsic existence, in the form of unique fabrics, traditional hand-crafting, surface enhancement and silhouette. The brand evokes the sensibilities of the modern youth, interpreting international aesthetic and mixing it with local material and skills. It takes inspiration from various cultures, traditions, and incorporates art aesthetics to make a product that connects with people, all over the world.

The label launched in 2017, is the brainchild of Sheetal Patil, a fashion graduate from National Institute of Fashion Technology who imbibes her set of skills and aspiration from various artists in all courses of life. What fascinates and inspires her most to create is, people in all their humane and glory. She calls herself a ‘fashion storyteller’ and aims to bring a change through her clothes. Her idea is that clothes should make you feel something, but mostly empowered and powerful.
