Either/Or is a collection dedicated to reinterpreting and recontextualizing my personal history. It is a collection that sits in the grey area between the “aesthetic life” and the “ethical life”. It’s a collection that features distinct, contrasting shapes that change the silhouettes of the garments. However, these details also serve to solve our practical needs.

Soren Kierkegaard’s philosophy on the aesthetic life and the ethical life form the philosophical backbone for this collection. Ivan Perard’s Conceptual art serves as the world that this collection exists in. Le Corbusier’s modernist/ brutalist architecture in Chandigarh represents my inspiration for the shapes presented through this collection.

On a more personal note, Either/Or represents my most honest collection to date. I have attempted to extrapulate my life experiences and tried to fuse them with my current obsessions. I have attempted to mix the highs with the lows to see if they produce something interesting that pushes my internal dialogue further. I have been precious with each and every cut/pattern observed within this collection to make sure nothing is solely an aesthetic, nor solely an ethical choice. Either/Or represents the grey areas of my own mind.
