Saša Design is the design studio of Sarajevo-born Canadian artist and designer Aleksandar (Saša) Skoric. The studio works across multiple disciplines including textile design, illustration and graphic design.

Saša graduated from the Alberta College of Art & Design in Calgary, Canada in 2002. He established Saša Design in Tokyo where he lived from 2004 to 2010. The studio is now based in Belgrade and Toronto.

Latest Collection

Wool

This collection is a collaboration with the old ladies of Sirogojno village in the Zlatibor mountain of Serbia.

Being more of a t-shirt designer I saw this more as a social and graphic design project then the fashion one. Part of it was recognizing the problem, amazing ladies, with great skills but not producing how I would have wanted to see their work in 2013.
With this in mind I wanted to introduce something new to the old ways of doing things in this village.
Especially since these ladies were famous back in the 60`s and 70`s for producing high fashion wool garments.
Their hand knit sweaters and tunics were sold across Europe and Japan.

I applied my graphic skills to their hard working hands where we came up with this collection.
My plan is to continue pushing them to go further, to see how far we can go together.
