Rita Carvalho was born in 1994 in Lisbon-Portugal.
She Graduated in Fashion and Textile Design at ESART- Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas in Castelo Branco. In 2015 presented the final course collection ”grows and contaminates” at Lisbon design show. After finishing the BA, she moved to London, where she interned at Eudon Choi´s Studio. Back to Lisbon in 2016 ,did an internship at Alexandra Moura´s studio. In March 2017 she presented her AW17/18 collection "NOPE!" at the New Blood platform during Lisbon FashionWeek.

Matter: everything that occupies space and in which all physical objects consist.
It all starts when there is a conflict between the self-matter and the external matters - all matters that are beyond our skin. These suddenly occupy all the space and leave us without breathing, without space. I don´t have space!
Suffocation, discomfort, tension.
NOPE! To say no, the need for space, the feeling of getting stuck in ourselves. This collection represents the outside matters and the way they stuck us as well as the desperate search for comfort.
The external matters and the discomfort they cause, are represented by manipulations and elements that create plasticity. The oversized silhouette that suddenly tightens, creates dynamic between needing space and feeling stucked. Nope! has a feminine easy-going look.
