Rebecca Schiffman was born in New York City and studied art at The Cooper Union School of Art. Growing up blocks away from the Met Museum she often visited the Arms and Armor collection and developed a special fascination for chainmail. During college she created jewelry for herself and her friends and upon graduating in summer 2004 she interned at Proenza Schouler where she was further encouraged to pursue jewelry design. Rebecca's IMK Collection (named for Sir Lancelot's epithet "The Ill-Made Knight" in "The Once and Future King" features bold and elegant chainmail cuffs made from metal and rubber so they can easily slide on and off the wrist. Rebecca makes all pieces in her Upper East Side studio.
