Rebeca Li

Rebeca was born in China and lives and works in London. She has been an ardent creator of stories since childhood, working through music, the written word and visual arts. She has settled on fashion. She calls it the most potent language of the present time, since it so often captures the aspirations and preoccupations of a generation.

Her designs flow from the breadth of her experience, her faith, and from the ancient, wise tales of the Silk Road of her Chinese heritage.

I am passionate about light, and its changing faces. I draw my inspiration from it. Cloth can be transformed by its interplay with light. Its look can change through the day, reflecting time, location and mood.

I crafted my collection to carry a woman through the day, from work to play, with fabrics that hold their own and are transformed by the changing light. The collection was inspired by the cool light of London, the energising light of Shanghai, and the optimistic light of the stories of the Silk Road. My fabrics are sourced in China, where my roots lie, and have been chosen for because their texture and colour work beautifully whatever the light. My collection reflects deeply who I am, and what I want every woman to be: beautiful on every occasion, and in touch with the source of light.
