Rachel Bova is a Canadian Fashion Designer who studied Fashion Design at Seneca College in Toronto, Canada. Rachel learned how to sew from her Nonna who studied Fashion Design in Italy. Rachel has been inspired by her heritage for past fashion collections; she is of Italian, Chinese, and English heritage. Rachel has most recently been inspired by her late father (Pino) who was legally blind. Rachel is the founder of Ciao Pino, a luxury outerwear company that is focused on outerwear that is visible to traffic at night. Rachel wanted to design apparel that makes a difference in people's lives.

Genderless Reflective Outerwear

Ciao Pino is a reflective outerwear company founded by fashion designer, Rachel Bova in a tiny Toronto apartment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rachel dedicated Ciao Pino to her late father Pino (Joe) Bova, who passed away from cancer in 2015. Pino was legally blind (due to RP) and he would commute a far distance to work everyday via public transit assisted by his guide dog Maddox. Rachel wanted to create clothing that would make a difference in people's lives and decided to design a collection of reflective coats for everyday wear. There are an increasing amount of pedestrian deaths in Canadian cities due to road traffic collisions and wearing reflective outerwear will help pedestrians be more visible to drivers at night. Ciao Pino is a slow fashion brand that values ethical and safe working conditions for their workers. Ciao Pino sources luxury sustainable fabrics that are ethically made in Italy. Ciao Pino proudly has a made to order business model and all of their outerwear is made by Canadian contract sewers who are paid fair wages. Ciao Pino's outerwear is genderless and size inclusive. Ciao Pino donates proceeds to Tree Canada and the CNIB Foundation.
