An Ohio native, now New York based, Nathaniel Paul always knew that a career in fashion design was written into his genetic code. Upon earning his degree from New York City's Fashion Institute of Technology, he immediately began working in the fashion industry. During his tenure, he has worked with brands such as Ralph Rucci and Vera Wang.

Paul is a recipient of FIT Critic Award for Evening Gowns and a contender on Project Runway, season 10.

On a walk to the office one day I encountered a situation between a man harassing a woman for attention. I followed them for 5 blocks trying to figure out a to intervene. The man gave up as we entered the same building. I walked over to the lady and apologized about what I just had witnessed. There she was, plainly dressed and unassuming, but still was not immune to unwanted attention.

I started to wonder about how a woman has to always be on guard and protect herself. She wears bulky coats and carry big back to create space from being assaulted while walking or riding the subway. Sunglasses are worn to keep from making eye contact. Women are always fighting for something, respect, equal pay, equality in general. This is the new battlefield
