Grey Line Map is a lifestyle brand based in New York City offering clothing for Men and Women with a penchant for unique style and design. In cartography, a Grey Line Map positions the imaginary band that separates the light from darkness around the earth. It is here that night and day relinquish themselves to time and become a moment in between.
The concept of Grey Line Map defines the modern creative generation concerned with balancing the dualities of life, such as the blurred boundaries of male/female, day life/ nightlife, and logic/irrationality.
Miguel Peña is a native of Puerto Rico and Parsons School of Design BFA graduate. He began his career interning with the late Alexander McQueen in London and at House of Field for Patricia Field. Peña launched his eponymous label in February 2004 with great success until its closure in 2006. He has been featured in publications like The New York Times, Women’s Wear Daily, Elle Magazine, and Paper magazine, amongst others.
“This time around I’m making clothes I could see everyday when I go out to a bar, watch a band, or visit a gallery opening. I want to focus on the young creative people who keep the world fresh with ideas: the artists, the dancers, the lovers, the rebels, the night crawlers who work in the morning. I want the clothes to be financially accessible and wearable, but I want them to feel new and creative. I’m very excited about this label because it represents my friends and the lifestyle I landed in when I moved to New York.”
