Brand Description
"Matveeva Fine Garment" is women & menswear conceptual clothing brand based and crafted in Kiev, Ukraine. Established in 2014 by Sonya Matveeva & Denis Trepakov.
The label includes several concept lines: "Just Like A Rock", "Armadillo", "Ruby", “Tyto”, annual limited line “Rainbow Coats” & accessory line. Designers don't work on collections, they continue adding pieces to existing lines.
The philosophy of "Matveeva Fine Garment" is based on exploring unique forms and functionality of natural world & transforming them into conceptual garments with original cuts & engineering attitude.
Since all the brand's concepts find origin in nature, it uses only high-quality fabrics and natural materials.
"Matveeva Fine Garment" is not just clothing. It's enriched with special meaning, exclusive silver details, wooden hangers, special packaging bags & personalizing clothing labels. Moreover, it possesses its own personality that reveals to wearers the moment they put garment on.
"Just Like A Rock"
The basic concept of "Just Like A Rock" line is the form of rocky mountains, their inner & outer strength. They look threatening, but can be sheltering & covering as well. Geometrical curves help garments to reveal themselves. Zipped coats look monolithic & impenetrable, while loose coats unveil personality in a sophisticated way. The main point of this line is accepting self with all the variety of differences.
"Armadillo"
Armadillo has become the symbol and the cornerstone for the conceptual series of "Matveeva Fine Garment" clothing. It includes male & female coats, waistcoats & backpacks.
This "Little armored one" is very much like most of us. Vulnerable inside & armored from outside. We see very strong message in it. Keep being yourself in a tough big world & protect your small inner world with clothing.
Armadillo's architectural shell & movement mechanics inspire us for creation of the garments that live & breath.
"Ruby"
Ruby coat, as we see it, is a precious stone. Ruby gemstone is known to inbreath wisdom and love. There's a fire burning inside the stone & it's revealing to the seer through the cut lines. The gemstone's purity is inspiring us to create sophisticated geometrical garments that would cut & polish wearer's personality, as it's done to the Ruby.
"Tyto"
Tyto is the owl family name. The owls have oval body & heart-shaped face. These lines exactly we presented in our first waistcoat for "Tyto" concept.
Owl is a symbol of wisdom. Powerful meaning & beautiful soft forms are creating new significant outfit type.
"Rainbow Coats"
"Rainbow Coats" is a limited project by "Matveeva Fine Garment". It's based on the principles of creating annual spring-summer wind breaker series in 7 rainbow colors. No limits for any forms, lines & styles. The only criterion is rainbow spectrum. When the colorful series sales are over, raincoats are available only in monochrome white, black & grey colors.
"Monochrome Rainbow"
"Monochrome Rainbow" is a sequel of "Rainbow Coats" limited project. It represents warm winter waterproof wind breakers in black & white gradient colors. The wind breakers are made with the same heating material as "Matveeva Fine Garment" coats. "Slimtex" makes them very light & warm. Therefore, they can be considered an active sportswear.

"Matveeva Fine Garment" accessories include Armadillo backpacks, M bags & clutches, mittens, leather/concrete belts.
"Armadillo Backpacks"
Armadillo Backpack is an absolutely functional accessory that can easily suit a 15 inch laptop. At the same time it really looks like Armadillo's shell, therefore can be worn as a garment decoration. For more wearing comfort together with "Matveeva Fine Garment" coats, its' breast-bands can be used crosswise. Armadillo Backpacks can be produced in leather or wool.
M Bags & Clutches
Hexagon, as a geometric figure, is basic for many things that create comfort for us. If you look properly, you will definitely see it in small & big things around. Hexagon form can be found even in bee honeycombs. They are known for their unique form & structure. This polygon figure is not as simple as it may seem. That's why it inspires us very much to search for new ways of using it in design.
We use this figure in wooden base & cover it with wool. It makes the bag or clutch a perfect match for our coats. Plus "M Bag" is very functional. Wool cover can be easily removed from the base, renewed or changed for another one.
Leather / concrete belts
Natural forms & textures are fundamental for "Matveeva Fine Garment" designs. Stones have become an endless source of inspiration for new conceptual series of belts. Millions of years nature has been creating these forms for us. That's what we've taken as a starting point to create leather belts with concrete stones on them.
Mittens
"Matveeva Fine Garment" are made of the same wool, that we use for our coats, plus leather details. That's why they are very warm & matching perfectly our coats. We created them especially for modern people, who spend a lot of time with their smartphones. Thumbs are made in leather & have cuts, that helps to open thumbs only for typing on the phone without taking off the mitten.
