Born in Portugal, Maria Soromenho studied Basic Design in Lisbon at IADE - Creative University, Stage Design in Paris at ESAA Duperré and briefly Womenswear in London at London College of Fashion.
Maria gained work experience with brands such as Fannie Schiavoni, Pam Hogg, Craig Lawrence, Peter Pilotto and Richard Nicoll in London. At the museum Les Arts Decoratifs and Diane von Furstenburg’s showroom in Paris and Slow and Steady Wins the Race in NYC.
Maria had her solo visual arts exhibition at Shanghai’s creative art district: M50 and her artwork was displayed in places such as the Power Station of Art.
Maria's work in visual arts, womenswear and accessories is inspired by art and music. Her background in scenography, jewellery and knitwear can be seen in her intricate work that currently consists of handmade mixed media artworks printed on fabric creating unique womenswear clothes and silk scarves.
Maria Soromenho is currently living in Lisbon and Los Angeles.
