LEYLAMOYA meaning the great night is derived from my own name LEYLA meaning the night and MOYA meaning great and extraordinary. I am Iranian born in Tehran. I moved to Paris to pursue interior architecture and have been working in Paris and in New York as interior architect before moving back to Iran for five years. During these five years in Tehran and before moving back again to Paris, I continued my work as interior architect and developed a more intense connection with my heritage.

Being passionate about fashion and inspired by the traditional yet stylish felt garment called KEPENEK, which Iranian and Turkish shepherds were wearing for decades in the mountain areas on top of the shoulders to protect them from all kind of weather, I designed an avant-garde reinterpretation of this garment. I tailored sleeveless vests out of felt, combined with my knowledge in architectural design. This passion became my real point of interest following a workshop of Fashion/ Architecture in Paris at AA school visiting Paris, with the subject «POST MCQUEEN EMBRYOS».

The vest is the key piece of LEYLAMOYA, WHICH repeats every season and in every collection with a twist and adapts to the concept of the collection. It is wearable by its own or layered on top of other piece of clothing as a key piece. This is a new concept that presents the Kepenek with a notably contemporary reinterpretation. The vest is no longer a casual vest, but a stylish luxury key piece that out stands other piece of garments.

LEYLAMOYA woman is uniquely stylish, powerful, independent, confident and unconventional, with an artistic vision, thinks out of the box and dare to have her own personality and style.
