Inspired by military gear, workwear and visual codes born from hyper-masculine stereotypes, this collection is considering another
approach to the codes of feminine objectification, to create a hybridised object of desire.
By turning the tables in terms of the power of the gaze, this collection is offering an alternative objectification of males.
Keeping their eyes open, women are witnessing male intimacy before, while and after the intercourse, enjoying the visual pleasure too often in
possession of male only. This ownership of gaze allows more confidence in different ways and turns the passive into active. This collection aim to dress, looking forward to undress.
The six looks are designed to push reflexion towards another possibility. The collection allows women to express their sexuality and desires
visually and sensually with contrasts of colours, material and textures.
The quiet violence behind certain pieces immediately recalls violent sexual fantasies sweetened by a leitmotiv softness creating a sensation of
fascination and sweet discomfort. By revealing or accentuating the shape of a bone or area of skin.
Subtle references Feminist Art are present within the designers work as the soft meets the hard, the beautiful hits the disgusting.
The references made to corsetry in the use cords, refers to fetishism and other restricting garments: these notions are softened by delicate materials and soft shapes.
This collection will be out at the same time as the extended essay « Looking at them » will be. This essay comes as a solid academic back up to the concept of the collection FASCINUS.
