There is nothing greater than an idea whose time has come. The story of the progressive label, I Waited For You… had written it-self long before the designers, Charleston Pacius and Melanese Reid, began to marry the concepts that they were inspired by. Based on their mutual love of art, science, and innovation, the duo formed the company in 2011.

Both graduates of the esteemed Fashion Institute of Technology, Melanese, a Barbados native, studied Women’s Patternmaking with a specialization in Knitwear Design and Dresses Construction; while Charleston, a Haitian-American, studied Textile Development and Marketing.

The two gained industry credentials interning and working at various designer labels such as Theory, Jill Stuart, and Rachel Comey, where fit and construction were a focus; while time spent at brands Alice & Olivia, Betsey Johnson, and Rachel Roy cultivated a greater comprehension of retail principles.

The two have combined their knowledge and acumen to fill a gap in the women’s apparel market, catering to the creatively inclined woman with a desire to develop a wardrobe with innovative essentials.

Latest Collection

WATER LUST SS14

Our third collection entitled “Waterlust” was inspired by the shapes and tones of the ocean. We also took inspiration from the tones of various flowers. S/S 14 really shows our progression. There’s a lot more cohesion and a lot more risk’s that we took design wise that we opted not to do in our debut collection. We are absolutely in love with the maturity of the line. For this collection Charles did a great job identifying fabrications that were light and comfortable and I brought in my Patternmaking background to concentrate on creating flattering shapes for various body types.
