Elle Barbeito

A student of Pratt Institute, Barbeito showed her premiere series in the fall of 2015. The collection was built off of the idea of redeeming the woman's place in a male-dominated western history. The concept wove together the past and present by incorporating iconic items such as gun harnesses and lasso-like sleeves and placed them in the context of the powerful woman.

Barbeito's creations and social narrations consistently present women as empowered beings in unorthodox ways that dismantle previously-held traditions.
