Up in the gallery

My collection is inspired by Kafka's story 'Up in the gallery'. The story offers two possible versions of a scene in which a young man watches a woman on horseback. The young man imagines the woman's reptitive performances circling the ring as routine and tired. A woman who is forced to do the laps and is tired of her role in the cirucs. But, in contrast, what he sees during the performance is an amazing physical feat celebrated by the audience and the ringmaster. Both version are possible, but which one is real? What is the woman's reality?
