In this project, I’d like to interpret the Dream of Red Mansions, one of China's four great classic novels, in another way. Through my reading and my feelings about modern society, I found that behavior of Jia Baoyu is very similar to that of playboys, a group of young people who suddenly emerged in modern Chinese society. I try to combine the traditional costumes, architecture and “modern” behaviors by characters in the Dream of Red Mansions to yield unique creative designs through some of my experiments and researches.
