Simon Lextrait’s Autumn Winter 2017 collection attempts to confront the poetry of nuclear sciences’ aesthetic to the technicality of workwear garments by exploring what binds one to the other. Whether it is a nuclear reactor inspired cut-out or a hieroglyph inspired bonded patch, both explore either digital or primitive representations questioning temporality. Emphasizing these misunderstood scientific streamlined illustrations and allowing them to exist in a place they do not belong to, this collection tends to associate strong and sharp elements to a fuzzy and sensitive thrill.
