The Disembodied Lady - graduate collection 2008

Inspired by one of the many strange characters that populate Oliver Sacks' book - "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a hat". Throughout my collection I explored Christina, one of Sacks' patients who foresaw herself loosing all control of bodily functions. It captures her struggle within the stages of her disembodiment, going from dreams and anxieties to phantom limbs and eventually complete disembodiment when she "feels her body to be dead" and she is totally dysfunctional.
