My CREATE DESTROY collection attempts a response to this disconnect. In contrast to previous, couture-finished collections, I have opted to visually highlight the production aspect in the designs. With the inclusion of raw edges, inside out seaming, and hanging threads the designs bring a more visceral awareness of the technical process to the viewer. Garments with these kinds of imperfection are usually discarded by either manufacturer or consumer for not complying with popular standards.
