One of the major issues in the fashion industry concerns textile waste. It has been estimated that 15% of textiles intended for clothing ends up on the cutting room floor and more than 15 million tons of used textile waste is generated each year in the United States. Given the situation, I decided to produce my collection more sustainably by composing it mostly of unused textiles and supplies.
