In partnership with GIVEWORK, the new collection will be produced by women in the designer’s hometown of Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo. “Being able to give back to the community by providing jobs and a sense of financial independence for these women is so rewarding,” says Kahindo. Fabrics from the collection are being made in collaboration with ReFushe, the organization that supports refugee women in Kenya providing them with a safe work environment and regular income.
