The aim of the collection was to play with the abstract notion of imprint and function, and to translate that into a solid and tangible object/artefact. Suggesting and illustrating the negative space formed around a human body, the concept of Mode Metonym was intended as a response to the ever-shifting boundaries and nature of both art and fashion. The title itself refers to a changing of name in reference to a ‘mode’ - or a manner of acting, doing or performing of a task.
