The collection, titled “The Tight Grip of Masculinity” was inspired by the history and controversy of the corset and attempts to draw parallels between the act of tight-lacing and the suffocating grip of hegemonic masculine standards on the performance of masculinity. It also features cut-outs that are inspired by my first hand research into masculine vulnerability and the showing of skin.
