pygmalion

The Pygmalion collection is based on the works of artists Oliver de Sagazan and Doris Salcedo.
The art of the first artist usually involves building layers of clay and paint on his own face and body, for him disfigurement in art is not an act hostile to life: on the contrary, erasure is a measure of loss and transformation a measure of power. The work of artist Doris Salcedo addresses the issue of forgetfulness and memory in her works of art, working mostly with household items of missing persons from Colombia.
