Citlalli Parra

Citlalli parra is Native mexican emerging fashion and textile designer, Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, now living in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. Her journey with textiles begins in an early age, since her mother, grand mothers and aunts were sewers and expert knit weavers, for which her approach in weaving was built up on looms, that makes her the first in her generation weaving on floor and manual looms. Having a multidisciplinary artist mother and an activist as a father, allowed her to emerge into fabrics and mainly into the mexican traitions and it's heritage.
Citlalli began her career by making her own bags out of typical shawls two years ago and her eager in understanding how these shawls are created, made her join the Fine Arts Institute, Centro Cultural El Nigromante of San Miguel de Allende at the textiles studio and after making her first huipil with deers in it, quickly she realized how her passion would transform her path. During all of 2019 she made more designs for her collection and for the last half of the past year, an alliance began with other master artisans and weavers from Oaxaca and Guerrero that became part of the making in Citlalli’s Collection series.
Citlalli is currently 26 years old.
