Chi Yuen (Cherry) is a British footwear designer, born in Hong Kong and currently working in London. She graduated from the prestigious Cordwainer’s College in London with her MA degree and had earned her BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Before she became a footwear designer, she was specialized in womenswear fashion design. She has worked for Celine, Alexander Wang, Pollini and Nicholas Kirkwood.
Her works have been exhibited in fashion shows and galleries in both Japan and America. In 2007 Chi-Lai was selected as one the finalists for Japan Fashion Week's Onward New Designer Grand Prix. In 2008 she received the La Cambre Award from the Arts of Fashion International Competition, and Honorable Mention in the Council of Fashion Designer of America (CFDA) Scholarship Awards.
She believes good design is a combination of simplicity and innovation produced with meticulous attention to detail and executed in quality materials.
