BURCUOLGUN

Burcu was born in a sunny october day, in the mid of the month of the year 1983, the year of revolutionary changes were made in Turkey. She was the youngest thus the luckiest of all in the family amongst her brother and sister. She felt so free and dreamt a lot and designed her own life going through a rabbit hole unlike the alice in wonderland. She was in the rabbit hole designing furniture’s and clothes of the forests’ residents in a body of a dwarf. Then she woke up after 16 years of a sleep and decided to fly with her pen through the papers of art. She first started designing graffiti/art t-shirts, leading to extreme women’s-wear on the following years. She studied fashion and textile design in university, and then had done her master degree in fashion and accessory design in London, İstituto Marangoni. While she was studying she found herself with a group of people in a big fashion world and had the opportunity to work as an intern in Alexander McQueen. After having her mastership in fashion for a year in London she attended as a trainee in Yohji Yamamoto. After a short while she got a job offer from a well-known textile design house in Turkey, where she worked for 2 years, designing sportswear and doing graphic design for Pimkie and Mister&Lady in Germany, France and Italy. She then had decided to have her own brand in 2010 thus burcuolgun was born. She now is standing between a designer and a fashion dreamer.
