Beeing Human is a tribute to nature’s wonder. Jamela thinks wonder is the basis of worship. The more she learns about nature, the more she was uplifted. Bees collect nectar to make strong, systematic and nurturing structures, similar to how human construct object for protection, be it clothing or architecture. The fusion of 3D printed geometric, architectural and biological forms coming together on a human body questions, if human are so passionate self-preservation and protection, why can’t we do it for Mother Nature as well? Jamela hopes to convey an environmental message through this collection, to encourage people to rethink our relationship with nature and join the dots.
This project is kindly sponsored by Takasago, Swarovski and Converse.
Innovative materials used include Elastomer- a rubber like material that is flexible and strong, BioFila Silk- a biodegrade 3D printing filament that is revolutionary in the way we collect and utilize silk, and many more.
