Anne James creates made-to-measure womenswear using consciously sourced remnant fabrics from luxury fashion houses and textile mills.

Her brand evolved as a rejection of the fast fashion industry’s over-constant overproduction of clothing that falls short of fulfilling the fit needs of unique and important women seeking the armor of inarguably exceptional clothing. Her limited production and tailoring embraces the truth that conscious fashion entails making fewer but better items.

Anne James’ use of deadstock fabrics from luxury fashion houses and textile mills addresses the epidemic of fashion industry textile waste and overconsumption. It is estimated that $120 billion worth of excess fabric sits in warehouses around the world; New York City textile waste alone amounts to 193,000 tons, most of which ends up in landfills.
Anne James aims to redefine what constitutes waste in the industry, and creates beautiful, wearable, and timeless garments out of these leftover materials.

Her signature two-piece of palazzo pant and shawl collar blazer retails for $1200. The palazzo pant is an easy but luxurious pant designed to help women feel impeccable, classy, versatile and comfortable—all morning, all day, all night. The blazer can be cinched at the waist or worn loose. The duo is the easiest ensemble to throw on and go and look effortlessly put-together. All measurements are refined to fit the wearer perfectly.

Her designs were selected as representing the best of future fashion initiatives in New York by ReFashion Week NYC—an annual event sponsored by New York City government nonprofit The Foundation for New York’s Strongest, celebrating sustainable fashion in NYC through a series of events designed to challenge industry leaders and shoppers alike
to consider fashion’s environmental impact.

The designer attended Parsons School of Design where she focused on research and advancement of environmental and ethical initiatives in the fashion supply chain.
