Anica Buckson graduated in 2014 from Rhode Island School of Design. She began to take fine arts and design seriously in high school at the Boston Arts Academy. She moved on to higher education to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at RISD in Providence, Rhode Island where she majored in fashion design.
Anica recently had her senior fashion show at the Rhode Island Convention Center, in Providence, where 6-look collection was presented along with her student peers, and featured in Women’s Wear Daily. In the future she hopes to expand her network connections in the Boston and NYC fashion world, which she feels is essential to becoming a successful designer in the fashion industry. She recently did a collaboration with a French fashion designer for a print collection. The design was featured in the runway show Print design featured in MODE ‘n’ ARTS De’file’ Fashion show at Le Vestiaire Maisons de Mode, in Roubaix, France

SPRING S/S 2016 "GEODE"

For centuries, crystals, from the common to the extremely exotic have fascinated mankind. Every piece of matter whether it’s a hunk of a tree bark or a plastic block, has its own special vibrational energy. If energy was visible, I imagine that crystals have many types of energetic vibrations that are like ever-moving waves orbiting and pulsing around them. My inspiration for physical structure and energetic vibes of crystals will be translated into apparel pieces in this collection. I will be experimenting with layers, opacity and transparency and exploring the fabric as three-dimensional structure. The digital prints I designed in this collection will be images of crystals as an all over-print. The pleated, digitally printed shape of the sheer organza will contrast with leather, a dark solid color and silhouette. The draping of organza into a 3D structure is my attempt to mimic the unique free and jagged formulation in the shapes of crystals,
