Alejandra Burguette was born in Monterrey, México. She is fashion designer, performance artist and opera singer. She moved to New York City to study fashion design in Parsons School of Design and graduated from both the bachelor degree and associate program. In her abstract organic mind she always felt the need to paint and experiment with textiles in an organic matter working in a world beyond the existing concept. Burguette’s talent has been recognized in Paris, where she exhibited her designs in the LOUVRE museum, Les Arts Decoratifs and was part of the new york textile month copper hewitt exhibit curated by trend forecaster Lidewij edelkoort. as a rising senior, she won the SAMSUNG scholarship at Parsons based on her talent. ALEJANDRA opened her presentation at the Parsons Benefit Gala 2016 in Chelsea Piers with an avant garde operatic performance showing her sculptural artisanal pieces on stage. Her designs were showcased in WWD Magazine, Fashionista.com, The Cut, The New York Times, The Impression, The fashionable lampoon & featured a collection of her textile garments at the New York Textile Month (NYTM) Book.
Since then, Her work has been featured in the french magazine "signature" for the cannes film festival, virtuogenix, vogue italia, schon magazine, american express commercial, downtown magazine, new york, Flanelle Magazine, red carpet, In Nyc magazine, lady gunn magazine and Her designs have been worn by CELEBRITIES rock star punk debbie harry, kimbra, Imogen heap and actress dancer juliet doherty.
Burguette designed original costumes for the prestigious american ballet company alvin ailey for their 2019-2020 world tour.
She is a finalist for the 23 annual rising star awards 2020 at the fahion group international, new york.
