“How can deconstructed second-hand jeans make people rethink labels, gender and sexuality?” The collection BROEKRIEMKE consists of 8 unisex outfits which were created by deconstruction, moulage and material experiments. The jeans are a methapor for what is considered as normal. I stretched the borders of this iconic garment and ignored the common rules. By letting the jeans speak, I gave them a second life. What is the jeans prefer to be a dress or a jacket? I question normality and create awareness of compartmentalization. The garments of this collection are conversation-starters which encourage the discussion on gender fluidity and sexuality.
