After her 3-year apprenticeship as a bespoke tailor and a year abroad in Australia, Fabienne started her fashion design studies in 2018. Since the beginning of her studies her focus has been on sustainability and she has realized several zero-waste & upcycling projects. After teaching herself to handknit and crochet as a teenager, Fabiennes passion for machine knitting was ignited during her bachelor studies. She did a 6-months internship at a premium knitwear brand and is working as a tutor in the knitting lab of her university since 2021. In her bachelor collection called "Waste me not", Fabienne combined her love for knitwear with sustainability and created a reversible, convertible, modular collection from overproduced yarns. In her current master's program, she is further deepening her focus on knitwear design and sustainability.

Waste me not

The name of the Bachelors collection "Waste me not" is inspired by the name of the flower forget-me-not and is a call to fashion producers as well as consumers to make the best use of existing materials and to prevent the disposal of well-preserved raw materials.
The collection combines two sustainable approaches: on the one hand, it was made only from overproduced, leftover or already used materials; on the other hand, each of the garments is reversible, with a different color on each side, can be worn in different ways and can be extended, for example, with longer sleeves or trouser legs. This not only gives the wearer an infinite number of ways to wear and combine the garments, but also takes up less space in closets, travel suitcases or warehouses than would be the case with conventional garments for a comparable number of outfits.
All collection pieces are knitted with overproduced yarn on a hand-knitting machine and are complemented by laser-cut accessories made from plexiglass remnants, as well as shoes made from beech wood and old bicycle tires.
In july 2023 the collection was presented at Berlin Fashion week as part of the Neofashion best graduate show.
