For Spring/Summer 2018, there was an interest to dissect and almost fetishize American wealth with this collection. I studied America’s “royalty” and its acquisitions of the natural world - the Cabinet of Curiosities. I looked at various periods of the 20th century - the Gilded Age, 1950s, 1970s, 1990s - and sought to distill the various styles from these periods and their characters into one mood for today. There are pieces that are of the earth, and pieces that are more rich and decadent.
