Batik beauty

I found the lovely batik fabric for the tan, black and ivory dress at a thrift store. As soon as I saw it, I knew what I was going to make. The intricate, diagonal design needed simple lines to showcase it best. I used the same pattern to make the red and indigo dress. That fabric was rescued from a yard sale. The other dresses are cut from a slightly larger version of the same pattern, with a Japanese obi-inspired belt. The design of the dress makes it flattering to many shapes and sizes.
