During the creation of chapter 4, i really wanted to delve deep into my tailoring skills and technical abilities rather than hiding behind my colour and fabric. I choose to use only 100% raw, unbleached cotton, so that the main focus was on the shape, form and finish of the garment. Mark making is a big feature throughout my chapters and that was still something i did not want to shy away from, so instead of using paint to make marks on my designs, i chose to use a form of free hand quilting. Similar to using a spray paint can, i found it to be a perfect alternative.
