Exploring themes of surrealism and absurdity, designer Mel Hewgill references the work of artist Joan Miró and historical photographs of clown costumes to create her menswear collection, Sobreteixims. Embracing Miro’s mantra: “The simplest things give me ideas,” Mel creates playfully oversized, draped silhouettes that harness harlequin diamond motifs within tailoring and celebrate the simplicity of stripes.
