“Textiles really excite me, contextually more than other visual stimuli, because the language there is mostly, arguably, for women to signal their identity & emotions to other women. It is an intimate & subversive visual language! Like flowers themselves, which are not for our eyes, but rather for the compound eyes of insects. Beautiful to us, not for us. But imagine for a moment the experience of a flower, as it was meant to be experienced, by an insect!
