‘THROUGH 0.5’ is a collection that began by exploring Polish traditional clothing. My mom is of Polish descent. I became fascinated by the immense shapes created by fragile materials of the headwear, the use of lace and the details of the garments translated in embroidery and cutouts.
In this traditional clothing, we see with the upper body that everything starts above the head, the clothing is very worked, pulled together, fastened and layered; with on top a headpiece. Whereas with the lower layers we see that these are rather loosely placed on top of each other.
This led me to the theory of perspectives when a small person looks at a large person, all the shapes on the upper body are magnified.
This collection seeks the boundary between garment and object. It shows the exploitation of the relationship to the maximum based on perspective.
