Barbara Vrbancic is a fashion designer, originally from Maribor, Slovenia. After finishing bachelor’s degree in Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana, she did an internship at Louise Gray fashion studio. After returning to Slovenia, she acted as an active member of the group of young fashion designers Squat / Young@Squat.

In September 2016, she completed her studies at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana and gained the title Master of Science in Textile and Clothing Design.

As a fashion and textile designer, she often combines past and modernity in her design solutions. She often uses old manual techniques or vintage inspirations, which are upgraded and reinterpreted in contemporary, urban fashion pieces or projects. Her work has recently been recognized by the public (winning the Young Creative Chevrolet 2013 competition, Mercedez Benz Fashion Award 2016, finalist at Fashion Scout See 2018 ...).

After few years of creating different garments, one thought always kept resurfacing in my mind: what else makes sense to create, in this world that is saturated with very short-lived products, that quickly become unwanted waste.

This lead to the creation of somewhat personal collection- an expression of my own creativity, and at the same time concern about the destruction of our planet.

The collection was created in the spirit of so-called "slow fashion", which brings lasting value-added clothing. It consists of clothing, which were either used, vintage or unsold pieces from previous collections. The garments came to life again with a transformation in cut, hand embroidery, screen printing and hand-painted patterns in vibrant colors.

let's not forget: dress makes a man, but a man makes a dress, make it last.
