The British Ready-To-Wear Womenswear Designer - Amy Louise Redford has incorporated the research into her S/S19 final graduate collection. Merging the research from the Maori people, she has also taken the loud colours and creative textures that she photographed in Hong Kong. Using fabric sourced from Hong Kong within her collection and sourcing100% Orissa Dupion silk, has become a big part of the range.
Amy has recently travelled to Shanghai to showcase her work at IFFTI (International fashion foundation technology institutes) 49 international finalists. She has also achieved an excellence award for a China red brief design competition. Within placement year she has designed for Walmart, Macey’s, George and other UK and American brands. In 2016 she won the Manchester football museum design competition, where her designs and garment was displayed in the museum. She received sponsorship from RIRI zippers and Funki Fabrics, to help towards her final collection. She has also been featured in drapers magazine for the talent of the future, as well as showcasing her work at GFW18.
She has also recently won the peoples choice award at a new Zealand fashion show - id emerging designers 2019.
